Characteristics:
- Body oval and compressed, dorsal and ventral profiles equally convex, the former showing a distinct notch at the commencement of the “nuchal crest”.
- Head and breast scale less.
- Belly silvery; back with dark, wavy vertical lines; a brown blotch on nape; distal part of spinous dorsal fin grey in adults.
- Maximum size: 13.5 cm.
- Distribution: Caught south of Hormuz Island.
